Decompress Tissue, Increase Blood Flow
Massage cupping has recently gained more recognition in the US, but it is actually an ancient modality of Chinese origin, much like acupuncture. The purpose of cupping is to increase blood flow and decompress tissue by creating a vacuum to pull connective tissues, scar tissue, etc. up away from the underlying structures. Unlike acupuncture cupping, or fire cupping, massage cupping involves moving the cups with the vacuum in place to pull and stretch the fascia in multiple directions. This technique aids in breaking down excessive scar tissue and in relieving trigger points and stubborn adhesions.
Most importantly, massage cupping should never be painful and many find it extremely relaxing.
Facial Cupping
A gentle modality that aids in lymph drainage of the face and neck, releases tension in the scalp, face and jaw muscles, promotes a healthy glow that comes with optimal circulation, and is extremely relaxing. If you suffer from tension headaches, sinus congestion or TMJ, this is just for you!
Don’t worry, cupping in this way will not leave any marks – just a healthy glow! Book an Allergy Special to experience this service.
What Our Massage Cupping Clients Say
“This place is great. Never had cupping done before (usually get Swedish or deep tissue) but Caitlin took great care of me. Struggling with whiplash (ski crashes) and stiff neck pain for a long time now and just after one session, I feel amazing. Highly recommended!”
