Neuromuscular Therapy for Pain Relief
Includes active movement participation of the client resulting in quicker, more noticeable results than traditional passive massage. This type of therapy is integrated with a deep tissue or relaxation massage and may include trigger point therapy, myofascial release, assisted stretching, and resistance exercise. You might describe it as a blend of physical therapy and massage.
Deep tissue massage should never be painful, and describes the structures affected more than firmness of pressure. The depth of pressure is set individually to each client and should never feel more intense than a good stretch. Slight discomfort for short periods may be beneficial, but painful pressure is counterproductive and causes the body to shift into a protective and resistive state. As the client, you should always feel comfortable communicating with your therapist on desired pressure.
Check each therapists profile for their individual pressure abilities.
*Best for clients seeking pain relief due to chronic tension or movement restrictions.
What Our Corrective Massage Clients Say
“I’ve been seeing Rachel for about 7 months now for neuromuscular massage and cupping. She has been amazingly helpful in managing pain of a chronic shoulder injury, as I’ve worked through a lengthy diagnostic process, and now post-surgery. She takes the time and puts in extra effort, no matter the instance. I always leave feeling well cared for, and also relaxed and pampered, which I don’t always take time to do for myself, so it’s an extra perk. I can’t speak highly enough about Rachel and RMCM!”
